About the Role

The Analytics Platform Engineer is an important role in our enterprise data management programs and provides the skills and experience required for large-scale data discovery and cataloging; and the development of analytical platforms for big data environments.

Analytics Platform Engineers are involved with the design and implement a state-of-art and user friendly data management systems, engaging with financial services business users, developing models to store and organize data relationships in a consistent and computable manner, and seamlessly integrating on premises and cloud infrastructures.

Required Experience

Ideal candidates offer

  • 3-5 years experience with data warehouse design and implementation initiatives for banking, capital markets, or investment institutions
  • Expert of front-end Java script frameworks such as AngularJS
  • Expert of Java script and CSS design, implementation and debug
  • Expert of high performance, low latency and scalable backend development
  • Expert of multi-tier and multi-tenancy system
  • Proficiency with database design and query languages
  • Restful API design and implementation
  • Experience working with big data technologies and cloud computing platforms such as AWS
  • Experience of knowledge base and graph DB – neo4j, Sparql
  • Knowledge of data life cycle and meta data retrieval 
  • Broad understanding of financial services instruments
  • Development experience in a unix/linux environment
  • Prior consulting and project management experience

Required Education and Work Location

  • Accredited undergraduate degree (majors in Computer Science, Management Information Systems and related disciplines preferred)
  • Advanced degrees and or certifications in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related disciplines a plus
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Available to work long term for clients in the NY tri-state area and other US locations

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Access)
  • Self starter, confortable leading work independently and as part of a team
  • High energy, analytical, creative thinker
